It’s been a gloriously sunny Autumnal week this week almost better than the summer! Digital Perform are looking forward to visiting Liverpool on Friday to explore the Accelerate-Britain it will be the first time we have attended this event so will let you all know our highlights.

The recent announcement that Apple’s latest operating system can run the software to allow adblocking has again raised the debate of the consequence this will have on the advertising industry as a whole – but how many advertisers will react and appraise their strategy in response to these online changes?

The Advertising model as we knew it when we were fresh faced creatives has fallen into the dark ages and at times I am still bemused at the snail’s pace many businesses adopt online opportunities.

Currently, digital advertising is the fastest area of growth in the advertising industry so where will this increased trend of a dblocking lead?  If perhaps the publishers are not taking heed to the potential billions in lost revenue adblocking could create. Then surely the savvy businesses will need to rethinking spend and strategy with a more creative path to engagement. If publishers themselves could deliver a way of providing ads that are less annoying and in a way in which they no longer slow page loading down, the end user may be more receptive to the commercial content presented to them.

Alternatively, I am certain that someone out there will already be working on new technologies to override the adblocking software, I recently came across this search engine duckduckgo the search engine that promises not to track you and the search content does seem to be much leaner without the barrage of commercial presence.
